Senna was the high watermark of F1, imo. The cars were fantastic. The competition was fierce. And there was a wild feeling to it all. Kimi Raikkonen was the last of the “James Hunt”-style drivers. They’re all just corporate shills now.

Totally. He was a beast. Love seeing those races before all the tech entered the space. So much driver engagement.

Will you make a video on the Oakleys? You inspired me to go down the rabbit hole as well and am very close to buying a pair myself!

Totally. I've actually been dreaming one up. Aren't they so rad?!

Gotta see how they tie in with the rest of your outfits! They are super rad. Where did you end up buying yours from?

I got them mostly for running (or so I told myself for the final push to get them), but I’m slowly slipping them into weekend house work fits :)

I found mine on Ebay. Took quite some time to find the right pair - I was dead set the x-metal finish.

Oakleyforum.com was really helpful, and good deals to be found on there, but you basically have to get a paid membership to be able to use it - I just didn’t want to mess with that.

Savee is truly the best site for inspiration and whatnot. Costs me damn near $150 per year after currency conversion but I don’t think I can give it up.

I assume you've seen Rush as well - not a documentary like Senna, but a great story well told and acted. I followed that season race by race, in the US the only way to do it then was pick up the Monday morning paper to see what happened, no electronic media coverage at all except the occasional mention on Wide World of Sports, but that was a week behind. I was (and am) a big Hunt fan, transferred my loyalty to Mario the following season, never warmed up to Niki. Everyone has a memory of F1 (or any sport, really) being at its peak when they were at the right age to enjoy it, that era was it for me.
