Snow Peak, Sonos Move 2, and my morning skincare go-to
Speaker I’m eyein’
If you’ve seen my YT Video on Sonos. You know I’m a fan.
I’ve long been on the hunt for better sound - Bowers & Wilkins (the Zeppelin was so good), Bang & Olufsen (B&O), Sony, Apple, Sonos, and more. I’ve owned a number of speakers/headphones.
I was recently at my friend’s and he had his Sonos Move playing outside. I didn’t realize how large this speaker is. It’s big. Bigger than the Sonos One/Era 100. It pumps out more sound too, and the Move 2 plays in stereo thanks to dual tweeters.
But the big thing: Battery life. 24 hours. Nuts. And supposedly that’s being conservative.
My go-to bluetooth speaker for years has been the B&O P2. It’s a little thing but sounds great. The only downside is the battery life. It’s bad. Always dies mid-hang with friends. I wish they made an updated version with solid battery life.
Back to Sonos. The Sonos Move 2 is not a put-in-your-pocket speaker like the B&O P2. It’s huge and heavy. It’s a speaker you take into your backyard or pack up in the truck for camping. That said, I think the sound/battery life is worth hauling this beast around, especially if you’re already in the Sonos ecosystem.
Brand I’m doing a deep dive on
The weather is finally cooling here in the Midwest, and I find myself checking out camping gear. I’ve always been aware of Snow Peak but have never done a deep dive for some reason, which is surprising because:
They’re Japanese
They love using titanium
I’m gonna drop some Amazon affiliate links to pieces I think are rad:
Titanium Mug ← Have it. Dig it. (you’ll want the lid)
Stacking Shelf ← These would be great to incorporate into home decor.
Titanium Sake Bottle ← I think this would make for such a great water bottle. It’s wildly expensive and isn’t double-walled, but it’s TITANIUM and has such a beautiful shape.
Takibi Fire (and grill) ← Clever fold-up fire pit and I think I like the grill attachment
Campfield Futon ← I’m clearly on a military/utilitarian aesthetic kick but this could be fun in a room over a good rug and with a Pendleton blanket draped over it.. and maybe some whiskey nearby.
Morning routine
I’m always trying to lessen friction. If things are gonna be complicated, I’m not gonna do them.
So in the morning, I at the very least throw this on after a shave and shower. It’s light and has SPF to help keep me looking like a baby forever.
When I’m out in the sun for a long time (say it’s Sunday, my long run day) I’ll throw on something heavier. But for normal days, this is what I use.
p.s. Bryan Johnson, the age-reversing vampire guy uses CeraVe if that tells you anything.
Quote I’m Pondering
Intensity is the strategy. Winners don’t have a better strategy, it’s that they do the obvious things with more intensity. - Shaan Puri

Are you subscribed to my YouTube Channel where I go in depth on all of this kind of stuff??? You should be.
Cheers!

Sticker shock on that sake bottle but MAN is it cool!
