Car, (but a bike again)
Ok, so as soon as my last post on the VanMoof S3 came out, the S5 was launched. THAT’S the one I’m gonna get.
What’s better?
Two main things:
Supposedly it’ll be more reliable. The S3 was plagued with issues. VanMoof is claiming this to be lower maintenance.
It’s shorter. The S3 was a large bike, made for riders 5’8 - 6’8. The S5 somehow covers an even broader range of 5’4 - 6’9. Pretty excited for all my 6’9 friends who were previously confined to riding penny-farthings.
What’s worse?
Two main things:
It seems to have visible, and not so great looking, welds on the frame that the S3 didn’t have. This gives it a less-polished look in that regard.
It no longer has the dot-matrix display on the frame. In hindsight, sure, it might not have been an ideal location… but I still think it was super slick. It’s been replaced by a mount for your phone to run the app through.

This thing is rad. I’ve never been a fan of Omega’s bracelets, so I’d rock this on a nato or the rubber strap shown above. Man, I love the waves on the dial.
Keep it up, Omega.
Personal Style
I have generally been pretty anti-shorts, but, man, summers get pretty brutal here in the midwest. I bought a pair of Outlier New Way Shorts…. and then I got another pair. These things are pretty perfect. They could be a tad shorter, but the fabric is amazing, the build quality is so good, and they can fit in most situations given the somewhat tailored cut. I’ve worn them to a nice brunch spot in ATX and then hopped over to Barton Springs for a swim.
Highly recommend.

If you are into supplementing with mushrooms and are looking for a coffee replacement, this really is a good deal. Mushroom supplements alone get pretty pricey - two birds with one stone here. It tastes like a chocolatey chai…but more healthy. Watch my video on it!

Are you subscribed to my YouTube Channel where I go in depth on all of this kind of stuff??? You should be.
Cheers!
